I live and work in a small black studio house in Lohja, close to the town centre and the beautiful lakeside nature. I designed, project-managed, and built the house myself on a very demanding hillside plot. The project took years, but now only the yard is still a little work in progress. I take immense joy in having created a unique space for my art and a home for my family, close to the wonderful nature.
I have planted trees, wheelbarrowed tons of blasted rock, built a graphic fence, painted a mural on the hallway ceiling, and mindfully handcrafted ceramic tiles for the kitchen backsplash. My home is filled with art created by the whole family, as well as small ceramic objects I have shaped from clay.
Even though I am an active doer who gets things done, I believe that happiness is not about rushing or performance. Happiness is about pausing to be with loved ones and dedicating time to the things that truly matter.
