Public Art

Are you looking for a striking eye-catcher to complement a building's architecture or interior design? Perhaps you envision a backlit perforated metal piece glowing into the dusk, or a collaborative community artwork that enlivens an interior space?

For the past ten years, I have been designing striking, large-scale artworks integrated into architecture and interiors. Many of these are community art projects where local residents are invited to take part in the creative process. In doing so, a sense of place and local identity is nurtured even before the building itself exists. It has also been possible to acquire extended usage rights for the visual assets, allowing the artwork to become an integral element of, for instance, a shopping center's daily marketing and communications.

Rather than being bold and dramatic, an artwork can also weave subtly into the architecture and the overall feel of an interior.

Architecture and interior design are deep personal passions of mine—so much so that I drew up the architectural plans for my own studio home to scale, managing and taking part in its construction. Prior to that, I also renovated a vintage detached house and an apartment. These personal projects have deepened my knowledge of materials and strengthened my ability to envision and manage expansive, complex spaces.

Many of my works reflect a love for the natural world: its endless visual richness and its calming presence.

Techniques and media used in the artworks:

  • backlit perforated metal
  • large-format print on acoustic panel
  • large-format print on glass
  • large-format vinyl graphics, also contour-cut
  • screen printing on glass
  • custom-cut steel
  • custom-cut brass
